Charity No. 249867
The Mothers' Union is a Christian organisation with more than 3.6 million members worldwide in 77 countries with the shared belief in the importance of family values.
Membership is open to anyone who has been baptised and believes in the importance of family life. Men and women, married and unmarried, parent or not - all can, and do, join the Mothers' Union.
Truro Diocese covers all Cornwall and we have branches throughout the County and also offer Diocesan Membership for those unable to attend meetings.
Truro Diocese, as part of the Worldwide Mothers' Union, is committed to:
supporting family life through practical action and prayer
involvement in Outreach Projects - in hospitals, refuges, holidays for those under stress, orphanages abroad.
the ongoing issue of Debt Relief, Child Poverty and Family Welfare.
Also we have strong links with members around the world. We have special links with MU in four dioceses overseas: Barbados, Katanga, Nelson, and Umzimvubu and with Bath & Wells here in England.
Did you know that 2007 has been so designated by the Mothers’ Union?
The year 2007 will be a time when all Mothers Union members worldwide will be looking at and exploring ways of putting their faith into action. With over 3.6 members worldwide this represents an enormous amount of faith in action and there is much to do. Nationally and internationally families are in need and the Mothers’ Union reaches out to help. In this year, the first of our new Triennial we here in Truro will also be exploring ways of putting our faith in action, always bearing our Purpose, Aim and Objects in mind and always endeavouring to “increase peoples awareness of family issues”.
If you want ideas for use in the parish in support of the Mothers’ Union, resources of all kinds are available from The Mothers’ Union Office at Diocesan House.
